Long overdue - but I would give Allen and team a complete 5 star.
Our home was a remodel (new purchase) with limited structural changes but involved permits etc. Allen and team helped us expedite the design, selection and coordination process in 8 weeks. In addition, his detailed drawings and attention to detail is commendable. This helped us get more precision in our contractor quotes and the outcome was exactly as we envisioned in the rendering.
His calm, personable, and professional working team is an ABSOLUTE pleasure to work with. We suffered when we did not listen to him (e.g. going with another kitchen cabinet contractor) and would strongly suggest working with him on any future project.

Booking their FF&E service for our San Francisco penthouse was effortless. All custom furniture arrived and was fully installed two weeks ahead of schedule.
Our redwood city kitchen remodel came with a crystal-clear, itemized estimate that never budged. When a plumbing glitch emerged behind the drywall, the crew resolved it the same afternoon. We couldnt be happier.
We had a wonderful experience with Allen and the design team at Sofiov Design. Our bathroom remodel project resulted in a gorgeous bathroom. We stuck close to Allen’s design and are extremely happy with it. It is subtle and very elegant. Just what we were looking for. The floor to ceiling wavy tiles covering most of the walls are understated and yet quite spectacular. The colors are perfect.
We used half inch glass for the shower enclosure and it is substantial and yet at the same time light and airy. The nickel fixtures give the right touch of luxury. Wonderful.
Thank you so much Allen and Design Team at Sofiov Design!

From our very first conversation with Allen, it was clear we'd found the right designer. His modern aesthetic lined up so naturally with our own taste that we never had to over-explain what we wanted; he just got it, and then made it better. Allen and the Sofiov Design team walked us through material selections with patience and a sharp eye for clean lines, honest textures, and finishes that feel timeless rather than trendy. Every choice felt intentional and true to the home we'd pictured.
This was a big project with a lot of moving parts, and the team made it feel manageable and even fun. They were responsive, enthusiastic, and clearly cared about getting the details right. We love walking into our home every day and seeing their work. If you're drawn to modern design and want a team that listens and collaborates, we can't recommend Sofiov Design highly enough.

I cannot recommend Allen at Sofiov Design enough. We wanted to add a half bathroom to the laundry room in our San Francisco condo, and since this was our first remodel, we were a little nervous. While we only had a few vague ideas of what we wanted, Allen and his team made the design process incredibly easy and enjoyable. They presented several options that went far beyond what we could have imagined, creating a clean, modern space that perfectly fits our home's aesthetic. Allen was a delight to work with--highly responsive, detail-oriented, and mindful of keeping options under budget. We highly recommend them for any project!

Designing a new home or planning a renovation begins with the right guidance. Without a proper design strategy, homeowners may face delays, unexpected costs, or layout issues during construction. At Sofiov Interior Design, our professional design consultation services in Belmont help homeowners transform their ideas into clear, practical design plans, whether inspired by the natural beauty of Waterdog Lake, the charm of Twin Pines Park, or the convenience of Carlmont Village.
A design consultation allows you to explore possibilities before construction begins. Our experienced team listens to your ideas and helps shape them into a well-structured plan. From layout suggestions to style choices, every step is designed to make your home project easier and more organized.
We believe that strong planning leads to successful projects. With expert advice and thoughtful design direction, your home project begins with confidence and clarity.
Planning a home project often involves many decisions. Without proper guidance, the process can feel overwhelming. Our design consultation services simplify the entire planning stage by offering professional advice from one trusted team. Instead of coordinating with multiple designers or consultants, homeowners receive clear direction and practical solutions from our experienced professionals. We review your ideas, analyze your property, and suggest design strategies that improve both function and style.
This early planning stage helps prevent costly design mistakes and ensures the project begins with a solid foundation.
Every homeowner has a unique vision for their living space. During our consultation sessions, we take time to understand your lifestyle, needs, and design preferences. We discuss how you use your home and what improvements you would like to see. Whether you are planning a renovation, home addition, or a completely new design, our team focuses on creating solutions that reflect your personal style. The result is a design direction that feels natural, practical, and tailored to your daily life.
A well-planned layout plays a major role in how a home functions. During the consultation, we carefully evaluate your existing floor plan or early project ideas. Our team suggests improvements that increase space efficiency, improve natural light, and create better room flow. Even small design adjustments can make a big difference in comfort and usability. Thoughtful planning ensures that every area of your home serves a clear purpose while maintaining visual harmony.
Selecting materials and finishes can be exciting but also confusing. There are many options available, and not every material offers the same durability or design appeal. Our design consultation helps simplify these choices. We guide homeowners through selections for flooring, cabinetry, countertops, lighting, and other important finishes. Each recommendation is carefully considered to balance style, functionality, and long-term value. Our goal is to help you choose materials that enhance the beauty of your home while remaining practical for everyday use.
One of the biggest benefits of a professional consultation is gaining a clear vision of the project before construction starts. During the consultation process, we explore design concepts and explain how different elements will work together. This allows homeowners to visualize the final outcome and make informed decisions early in the process. When the design plan is clearly defined, the construction phase becomes smoother and more efficient. Good planning reduces delays, improves communication, and leads to better results overall.
Every home project needs to balance design goals with financial planning. During our consultation, we discuss your budget and help you make smart design decisions that maximize value. Our team suggests materials, layouts, and design features that provide strong visual impact without unnecessary expenses. By prioritizing the most important design elements, homeowners can achieve beautiful results while staying within their budget. Careful planning ensures that your investment is used wisely from the beginning of the project.
