We had a wonderful experience with Allen and the design team at Sofiov Design. Our bathroom remodel project resulted in a gorgeous bathroom. We stuck close to Allen's design and are extremely happy with it. It is subtle and very elegant. Just what we were looking for. The floor to ceiling wavy tiles covering most of the walls are understated and yet quite spectacular. The colors are perfect.
We used half inch glass for the shower enclosure and it is substantial and yet at the same time light and airy. The nickel fixtures give the right touch of luxury. Wonderful.
Thank you so much Allen and Design Team at Sofiov Design!

From our very first conversation with Allen, it was clear we'd found the right designer. His modern aesthetic lined up so naturally with our own taste that we never had to over-explain what we wanted; he just got it, and then made it better. Allen and the Sofiov Design team walked us through material selections with patience and a sharp eye for clean lines, honest textures, and finishes that feel timeless rather than trendy. Every choice felt intentional and true to the home we'd pictured.
This was a big project with a lot of moving parts, and the team made it feel manageable and even fun. They were responsive, enthusiastic, and clearly cared about getting the details right. We love walking into our home every day and seeing their work. If you're drawn to modern design and want a team that listens and collaborates, we can't recommend Sofiov Design highly enough.

I cannot recommend Allen at Sofiov Design enough. We wanted to add a half bathroom to the laundry room in our San Francisco condo, and since this was our first remodel, we were a little nervous. While we only had a few vague ideas of what we wanted, Allen and his team made the design process incredibly easy and enjoyable. They presented several options that went far beyond what we could have imagined, creating a clean, modern space that perfectly fits our home's aesthetic. Allen was a delight to work with--highly responsive, detail-oriented, and mindful of keeping options under budget. We highly recommend them for any project!

We hired Sofiov Design for a large-scale backyard remodel, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. Our project had a lot of moving parts--including new flooring, a large pergola, an outdoor kitchen, a new deck, and a full pool refinishing. To make things more complicated, our house is situated on a hill, and the existing pool created some tight geometric constraints.
From the very beginning, Allen was incredibly thorough and attentive. He spent a significant amount of time gathering our requirements and carefully surveying our property's tricky layout and topography. He made multiple site visits just to ensure he completely understood our vision and the technical constraints of the hillside.
The initial design Allen delivered was almost flawless. We only needed to iterate on a few minor details, and he handled those changes quickly and seamlessly. He also went above and beyond by spending several hours with us at the material showroom, guiding us through our options for pavers, coping, and other finishes.
Our project is now under construction, and we are so excited to see it all come to life. If you want a designer who combines meticulous attention to detail with fantastic customer service, we highly recommend Allen and Sofiov Design!

As a first-time homebuyer in the US with zero prior experience in single-family home renovations -- and honestly, not even knowing most of the construction terminology in English -- I am so lucky to have found Allen as our designer here in the Bay Area.
We first met at my new place -- an old house built in 1957. While it's in a great location, the house itself, both inside and out, was extremely outdated and needed a full overhaul. Allen arrived right on time, warm and professional, immediately putting me at ease. At the time, I didn't have a clear and complete vision and could only give a vague description of the feel I wanted. Allen listened to me with tremendous patience, answered all my questions in detail, and proactively brought up many potential issues and risks I hadn't even thought of.
Within just two days, I received his initial design sketches. Over the next month or so, Allen guided me through the selection process step-by-step -- much like helping a kid build with LEGO blocks. He frequently traveled with me to various building material and decor showrooms across the Bay Area, helping me pick out everything from custom cabinets and tiles to tub, vanities, kitchen island marble countertops, and hardwood flooring for the bedrooms and living areas.
What I appreciated most was that Allen never forced or pressured me into making any decisions. Instead, he quietly safeguarded the entire project, helping me steer clear of all kinds of unexpected pitfalls. Thanks to his thoughtful design and full support throughout, the entire renovation process went remarkably smoothly. The transformed home exudes a sense of quiet, livable beauty while still feeling modern and refined. Every friend and guest who has visited since has been full of praise.
I couldn't be happier with the final result, and I wholeheartedly recommend Sofiov, especially Allen and his team to anyone planning a home renovation!

Designing a home is an exciting process, but it also requires careful planning and professional insight. Whether you are building a new home or upgrading your current space, inspired by the timeless beauty of Hakone Gardens and the creative spirit of Montalvo Arts Center, a proper design consultation can make the entire journey smoother. At Sofiov Interior Design, our design consultation services in Saratoga help homeowners transform ideas into clear and practical design plans.
A home should reflect your lifestyle, comfort, and personal style. Our design experts take time to understand your goals and provide thoughtful recommendations that improve both functionality and aesthetics. From the first conversation to the final concept, we focus on making your planning process organized, clear, and stress-free.
Planning a home project involves many decisions. Without expert guidance, it can quickly become overwhelming. Our design consultation service brings all the important planning steps together in one place. Our experienced team helps you evaluate your ideas, explore design possibilities, and organize your project direction. We review your current space or future building plans and suggest practical improvements. By starting with a structured consultation, homeowners can avoid costly mistakes later. It also ensures the project moves forward with confidence and clarity.
Every home design should begin with understanding how the homeowner lives and uses the space. During our consultation, we discuss your lifestyle, design preferences, and long-term goals. We listen carefully to your ideas and expectations. This helps us create design recommendations that match your vision while improving comfort and usability. Our goal is to turn your ideas into a well-organized design strategy that truly reflects your personality.
A well-planned layout improves the overall flow of a home. During the consultation, we analyze how each space connects and functions within the home. We may suggest changes that increase natural light, improve room flow, or make better use of available square footage. Even small layout adjustments can significantly improve comfort and practicality. Good design is not only about appearance. It is about creating a home that works efficiently for everyday living.
Choosing the right materials is an important part of any home design project. With so many options available, it can be difficult to know what works best. Our design consultation helps simplify these decisions. We guide you through selecting materials such as flooring, cabinets, lighting fixtures, countertops, and color schemes. Every recommendation is made with durability, style, and long-term value in mind. This ensures your home remains both attractive and functional for years to come.
One of the biggest advantages of design consultation is gaining clarity before construction begins. We help homeowners explore design styles and overall themes that match their vision. Through concept discussions and planning, you gain a clearer picture of how your future home will look and feel. This step allows you to make confident design decisions early in the process. Having a strong design concept also makes the next stages of architectural planning and construction much easier.
Creative design should always work within a practical budget. During the consultation, we discuss cost expectations and help you prioritize the most important features. Our goal is to create a design plan that balances beauty, functionality, and financial responsibility. Careful planning at the beginning helps prevent unexpected expenses later. With the right guidance, homeowners can achieve a high-quality design while staying within their budget.
